Each benefit has its own eligibility rules. A payment date appearing in this guide does not mean that every Canadian will receive that payment.
Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit Payment
The Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit is scheduled to be paid on July 3, 2026.
This is the first regular quarterly payment issued under the new benefit name. The Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit replaces the former GST/HST Credit beginning in July 2026.
The benefit provides tax-free quarterly payments to eligible individuals and families with low or modest incomes to help with the cost of groceries and other everyday essentials.
The payment amount is generally based on:
- Adjusted family net income
- Marital or common-law status
- The number of eligible children
- Information reported on the recipient’s income tax return
July 2026 payments are generally calculated using information from the recipient’s 2025 income tax return.
Eligible recipients do not normally need to submit a separate application. Filing an annual income tax return allows the CRA to determine eligibility automatically.
Ontario Trillium Benefit Payment in July 2026
The Ontario Trillium Benefit is scheduled for July 10, 2026.
July begins a new Ontario Trillium Benefit payment period based primarily on information from the recipient’s 2025 income tax and benefit return.
The Ontario Trillium Benefit combines up to three provincial credits:
- Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit
- Northern Ontario Energy Credit
- Ontario Sales Tax Credit
Eligible Ontario residents may receive monthly payments from July 2026 through June 2027.
When a recipient’s annual entitlement is relatively small, the total amount may be issued as a single payment rather than divided into monthly deposits.
Residents who chose to defer a larger entitlement may receive it as one payment at the end of the benefit year instead of receiving monthly payments.
Advanced Canada Workers Benefit Payment
The Advanced Canada Workers Benefit is scheduled to be issued on July 10, 2026.
The ACWB provides advance payments of part of the Canada Workers Benefit to qualifying workers with lower incomes.
The Canada Workers Benefit is a refundable tax credit designed to supplement employment income and encourage participation in the workforce.
Eligible recipients generally do not need to apply separately for advance payments. The CRA determines eligibility using information from the recipient’s income tax return.
The amount received may depend on:
- Employment income
- Adjusted family net income
- Marital or common-law status
- Province or territory of residence
- Eligibility for the disability supplement
Advanced payments represent only part of the total Canada Workers Benefit. Any remaining entitlement is normally calculated when the recipient files a tax return.
Canada Disability Benefit Payment in July 2026
The Canada Disability Benefit is scheduled to be paid on July 16, 2026.
This federal income-tested payment provides direct financial support to eligible working-age people with disabilities.
July begins a new Canada Disability Benefit payment period. Payments from July 2026 through June 2027 are generally calculated using adjusted family net income from the recipient’s 2025 tax return.
For this payment period, the maximum monthly benefit may be adjusted for inflation. The actual amount received depends on the recipient’s income and family circumstances.
Eligibility generally requires that the applicant:
- Be between 18 and 64 years old
- Meet the applicable Canadian residency requirements
- Be approved for the Disability Tax Credit
- File the required income tax returns
- Complete an application for the Canada Disability Benefit
Receiving another disability program does not automatically guarantee eligibility for the Canada Disability Benefit.
Canada Child Benefit Payment in July 2026
The Canada Child Benefit is scheduled to be issued on July 20, 2026.
July begins a new 12-month Canada Child Benefit payment period. Payments from July 2026 through June 2027 are generally calculated using information from the family’s 2025 income tax returns.
This means a family’s July payment may be different from the amount received in June.
The CCB amount is generally based on:
- Adjusted family net income
- The number of eligible children
- The ages of the children
- Marital or common-law status
- Shared-custody arrangements
Both spouses or common-law partners should file their income tax returns every year, even when one person had little or no income.
A missing or late return can prevent the CRA from calculating the new payment amount and may interrupt benefits.
Newfoundland and Labrador Disability Benefit
The Newfoundland and Labrador Disability Benefit is scheduled for July 24, 2026.
This provincial program provides additional financial assistance to eligible lower-income residents with disabilities.
The benefit is administered by the Canada Revenue Agency and is generally based on tax information and Disability Tax Credit eligibility.
Payment amounts may change in July because a new annual benefit period begins and the CRA may use updated income information.
CPP Payment Date for July 2026
Canada Pension Plan benefits are scheduled to be issued on July 29, 2026.
The same payment date generally applies to several CPP benefits:
- CPP retirement pension
- CPP disability benefit
- CPP survivor’s pension
- CPP children’s benefits
CPP retirement pension amounts are influenced by the recipient’s contribution history, pensionable earnings and the age at which the pension began.
CPP benefits are taxable income. Recipients can request that federal income tax be deducted from their monthly payments.
OAS and GIS Payment Date for July 2026
Old Age Security benefits are scheduled to be issued on July 29, 2026.
This payment date also applies to:
- Guaranteed Income Supplement
- Allowance
- Allowance for the Survivor
July is an important month for these programs because benefit amounts may be recalculated or adjusted.
OAS payment rates are reviewed quarterly to reflect changes in the cost of living. Payments can increase when the Consumer Price Index rises, but they do not decrease when the cost of living falls.
GIS, Allowance and Allowance for the Survivor payments are income-tested. Amounts beginning in July 2026 are generally based on income reported on the recipient’s 2025 tax return.
Recipients and their spouses or common-law partners should file their returns on time to avoid delayed or suspended payments.
Veteran Disability Pension Payment
The Veteran Disability Pension is scheduled for July 30, 2026.
Veterans Affairs Canada administers disability benefits for eligible veterans, Canadian Armed Forces members, current or former RCMP members and certain qualifying dependants or survivors.
Payment amounts depend on factors such as:
- The approved medical condition
- The assessed degree of disability
- The connection between the condition and service
- Family circumstances
- The specific disability program
Recipients whose condition has worsened may be able to request a reassessment supported by updated medical information.
Benefits Not Scheduled for July 2026
Some Canadian benefits are not paid every month or do not follow one universal payment date.
Alberta Child and Family Benefit
The Alberta Child and Family Benefit does not have a regular payment scheduled for July 2026.
The benefit is normally issued quarterly. The next scheduled payment after May is August 27, 2026.
Employment Insurance
Employment Insurance does not use one fixed monthly payment date for every claimant.
Eligible claimants generally receive payments according to their individual claim and reporting schedule after submitting the required reports.
Canadian Dental Care Plan
The Canadian Dental Care Plan does not normally provide a fixed monthly cash payment directly to members.
Eligible dental services are covered according to the plan’s rules, and participating providers submit claims for covered treatment.

- Canada Child Benefit

- A child was born or turned 18
- Custody arrangements changed

How July Benefit Payments Are Delivered
Most federal and CRA-administered benefit payments can be received through direct deposit or by mailed cheque.
Direct Deposit
Direct deposit sends government payments electronically to the bank account registered with the CRA, Service Canada or the relevant department.
It is generally the fastest and most reliable way to receive benefits.
Recipients should keep their banking information current and avoid closing an old account until they have confirmed that future payments have been redirected.
Mailed Cheques
Recipients who are not enrolled in direct deposit may receive a cheque by mail.
Mailed payments may take longer and can be affected by postal delays, statutory holidays or an outdated address.
What to Do if Your July Payment Is Missing
